All mahogany! Well I guess you know that you've got my vote. I've only done one all mahogany, a little parlour guitar and it took some time to open up, so give it time. Excellent execution especially for a first. Is it my imagination or are #1 guitars starting to look better than they are entitled to?

Interesting choice though a mahogany top for your first guitar, any particular reason?

By the way, if you want it to sound louder without a pick the answer is at your local shopping mall, take you manly courage in your hands and go to the nail bar and get acrylics fitted to your picking fingers, wouldn't be without them!

Great guitar, on to number 2.

Colin

Beautiful guitar. Now it's time to come up with a cool logo to inlay in the headstock of #2

Todd that is a great looking guitar. For the first one it is awesome. Gotta love that mahogany. Overall just a pretty guitar.

Todd, I took a lesson from what John M. said and now hide my first in a CLOSET! But yours is beautiful! Well done . Reminds me of the first real acoustic I ever owned...an all mahogany Takamine back in 81 or so when no one knew what a Takamine was!

Boy, am I glad you put that picture of the rosette up! It means I can make a suggestion for your next one. If your putting a scratchplate on, I always think it looks better if the plate is contoured to exactly fit the outside edge of the rosette, kind of looks more finished.

Todd - here's a link to my first one - I've only built two, and yours looks great to me.....

Harry's first guitar

You will note no headstock logo and no label on mine either. I wanted to develop a decal to put on the headstock, but haven't been able to find anyplace that makes old-fashioned decals anymore!!!

Great job Tod. I think the herringbone looks perfect on that mahogany top.

Hi Todd...
When your first guitar looks this nice...YOU are the inspiration for all of us.

Now, start the 2nd.
Any ideas yet?

Walter

Great work Todd!

Has my #1-3 beat by a long shot. Now that I'm at about 10+ I think I'm getting a lot of the bugs worked out.

Can't wait to see your next one.

Josh

Todd,

What a beautiful guitar! First or fifth or fiftieth, it really shows a refined aesthetic.

Colin, I know you're *excited* to see all that mahogany, but please! You're going to get Todd arrested!
