Hi all,

I would post a pic of a braced top, but cant find any on the PC, and have none all braced up right now. Soon though !!!

Bracing is much improved over first post. Clean and neat. The only thing I would change is the finger braces ,I would take the point to the center as they add mass and are anti split more than anything. The Trus rod brace looks so neat. I like that you cleaned off all sharp corners and removed any force focus points.

John,

Thanks for the kind words and most especially for talking through some of the theory. I have notes now taht will help make my decisions. I carely considered your suggestion about placement of the finger braces and then looked around at some traditional barcing (martin!) and observed your rule. Then I looked at Larrivee, Laskin and Manzer braced tops and saw that all of their braces are right about where I have put mine so decided to leave them in that location and see how it works. Larrivee just uses a patch for the finger braces but both Laskin and Manzer use a brace similiar to mine (Although theirs looked a bit heavier) so I think I will just try this and see what the results are like and try some changes on the next one.
