Way to go Alain!
Your own design on your 2nd build and that custom bridge just go to show that you have what it takes.

Hey Alain, nice one. Was this the one you showed me with the neck angle challenge - how did it work out, what is the bridge saddle height - looks ot be good in the photos, you figured it out from what I mentioned. Great stuff .. thats what it takes, a little thought and carefully looking at what you have, and where you need to go.

Cheers ..

Thank you for your very kind words guys!!!

Tony! Thanks a lot for your expertise and advice, coach! Yes, this is the one with the 'challenge'. I took off all the frets, re-planed it lower. I took off close to 1/8 near the soundhole. Then I re-fretted. Easier said than done (I was running out of slot depth, not to mention patience). Lots of tang filling/shaping, CA and a few torrents of invective latter...

I left the bridge and saddle a touch higher than I would of liked (I'm a touch over 5/8), but the action is superb now and it is very acceptable none the less.   Plus I noticed that she started moving a bit since the stringing-up so I'll probably be able to knock a few 64th's off her still.

The lesson here: Pay closer attention to the neck angle Alain, AND, don't go gluing on the neck to the body before you're absolutely certain the bridge and saddle heights are kosher...

Plus, if you get in trouble, you can always call uncle Tony!!!

Alain...This is a superb effort for #2...or even #22. I've found that correcting mistakes is the first step in avoiding them in the future. You seem to have taken a logical and methodical approach to getting it back to spec. Looking forward to playing this one some day!

BTW...I could give lectures in correcting mistakes. Fortunately I haven't repeated the same ones...I just find new ones to correct!

JJ, I hear you brother! I always feel that's where my creativity is at it's best; when I'm inventing new ways to screw up!!!

Like you said, the secret is to make a mistake only once...

I'm a fan, too. I really like the shape. It reminds me of Petros, but not in
a knock-off sort of way. In a good company kind of way.

My goodness James, you are right!

I had never seen a Petros before but there are similarites. It was the same as when I saw a Jason Simpson guitar. I was hoping he wouldn't sue

When I came up with the shape, I just took a standard dread shape, I then dropped the shoulders, tucked in the waist and flared the bouts a bit.   Nothing terribly fancy, but I liked the result.

Actually this guitar is 16.125 at the lower bout, I wonder if that would make it more of a SJ?
