Here's one, cedar top, cocobolo bindings...

Some nice figure here, cocobolo bindings....

A bit wild, with ebony bindings..

Simple can be beautiful! Ebony bound, again.

One of my earliest mahogany guitars.. Ebony, again...

Simple, with TS bindings

Here's one in ivoroid trim...

More cocobolo trim(notice a trend, here <bg>)

with flamed maple bindings...

perhaps the same one in maple trim...

One of the first OM/D, with oak bindings...

A 12 fret dread in white birch bindings....

A pair with oak bindings

TS...

Oak...

That enough? <bg> Hope the above show that pretty well anything goes well with mahogany.

This has to be one of my favourite mahogany guitars, The all mahogany by Paul Woolson, with that killer end graft.

This was a Port Orford Cedar / Honduran Mahogany guitar I made a short
while back. The bindings are bloodwood which I think make a wonderful
contrast with the lighter hued woods.

Yeah, those are some special guitars there. I just totally love that Mayes Grand Parlor...SuhWeet!
Todd, that's a beauty!
And Mario (of course) had some decent instruments there too.    Ok, Mario, they were more than decent...! That quilt mahogany guitar is over the top cool!

One thing i've noticed is that pretty much any kind of bindings goes well with this wood, must be the gold color of mahog, i like that idea of using oak or birch along with ebony and bloodwood as bindings. i'll know what to do with that billet of oak i have drying up here!

Hey John, I was hoping you'd post more pics of that one... it's another beauty.

Todd--those are beautiful joints in your maple bindings!

Not easily done. But you make it look easy.

Hee, hee, let's try this again. Doggone new laptop!!

As I was saying....

Don, that back looks almost identical to my #1! You would swear they were cut from the same tree. These are pretty poor pics and the coloring's a little off, but they really look identical.

Well, except for the whole craftmanship thing. Or lack thereof...

Hopefully this works. Honduran dread with white oak bindings...

I think Mario hit the nail on the head...Pretty much anything works with Mahogany. Wish I was further along in my current build but it will be mahogany with ziricote bindings. Was also thinking of mahogany with mahogany bindings on my next one. Kind of like my Taylor 714 with EIR b/s and eir bindings seperated with a think white black purfling.

This is all so inspirational, thanks all for sharing. There is so much variety in Mahogany that you can express the full range of styles without looking elsewhere. Cool.

Hi everyone

I was so busy looking I forgot to thank everyone for the help! I'm going
to go with tortoise shell bindings and find a dark but reddish brown
specie for the headstock and end graft. I think. Who really knows at first,
right?
