Dave, put me down in the positive camp also. I really like what you've done. My Gallagher dread (not Kevin, by the way--what a pity) has Indian sides / back, with an ebony wedge. I know, a bit more contrast than what you've pictured, but still subtle, and elegant as well. He does use thin purfling lines to separate, but the look still is understated and attractive.


And--pay no attention to Billy....

(I'm joking, I'm JOKING!!)

By the way--what ARE those bindings?

They are Q/S Sycamore. I seem to use that a lot on prototypes for some reason. Probably because I already have it.

I like it as is Dave.

If I were to attempt anything in addition it would have to be in the context of the rest of the guitar.

I think if I used purfling I would go with a thin black ebony or ebony stained thin strip of purfling to outline the wedge or perhaps a non figured rosewood to divide the change in grain but as was mentioned (in the photo at least) the glue line leaves a darker thin outline already.
