Depending on final price/discount I would be interested in 3 sets of gold with Snake, however, S.M. doesn't usually care how many of "another" similar item (like the ebony) you order/buy as far as discounts go...If they that's the case with the group buy, I may want 3 sets of the gold ebony. But again if the price is right.

wise guy! Hey, a deal is a deal only if it makes good economic sense. What good does a $20 or $ 30 discount do me if I have to inventory the parts for two years...

I have seen companies near bankruptcy with millions of dollars in "inventory".

I believe the prices Hesh quoted for the "3 or more" and "6 or more" discounts are S.M.'s regular/standard discount for quantity. If S.M. isn't willing to further discount for our "group" buy then what's the point of the group buy? o.k. it's great for the guy who needs one set...he saves approx $18.

Dom another note... I bought one of those festool 15.6v drills...real nice...they accidentily sent me the 12v too so I got to compare the two. The 12 was slightly smaller and I suppose slightly lighter ( but hard to tell)I kept the 15.6 (for the higher torque)and returned the 12v. although I wish I could have kept both. They sure do make nice tools. So what did you finally decide on?Dave-SKG39015.8517361111

All I was saying was that if S.M. was NOT going to give us a "good" deal then I was going to wait on the purchase because I have no immediate need for the tuners ( have two sets in inventory). I would wait until a later date for the purchase and waste the money on booze and wild women ( kidding). Don must have gotten upset with my question...oh well.

Yes, I really like all the Festool tools. I would love to get more... it's just they are very expensive. The tools I have now came with the systainers, like you, I think they really serve no useful purpose for me. Although I guess in my little shop at least I have a place to store them. I was wondering what Don had settled on as he was in serious search a while back.

Well, I decided to buy a small Bosch electric screwdriver thingy, 10.5 volts or so. It's small and light, and works good with plenty of torque for bench work. It doesn't drill, but my old DeWalt still can handle that task on one battery.
Someday when I'm wealthy <cough> I'll buy all the Festool stuff I want. But, umm... not exactly in that position at the moment.
