Craig, I'm okay with being one of the guys.

Yes Lillian, you most certainly are one of the 'guys'. I meant that in a respectful way.

Colin, Your post means a whole lot to me, coming from the elite craftsman that you are. Here is a shot showing more of the brace profiles. I was lucky enough to have some very light ,but strong bracing stock at hand , so have them very thin

( In case you were wondering , the chisels are a special edition Marples Ridgeway ,I bought as a boy )Good old English stuff

Lovely work Craig, really very nice, but then it would have to be with your first setting the bar soooo high.

Merry Xmas to all.

O.K., I know this is a family forum, but I have to say it.. dang!

Craig, I hope you'll tell me that you build exact replicas of 17th century uber furniture for a living or something to that extent or I'm going off to burn all the guitars that I've build so far...

That is just crazy!

Note: notches in waist cauls = touche!Alain Desforges39074.8594212963

Craig, like everyone else, I am so impressed with your work. It's obvious that you are enjoying what you do.
I've built only one 12 string, but I did what you've done. (3 tone bars.) But with this one exception, I added a third finger brace on each side.
Necessary, I dunno. But I think that 3rd tone bar IS.

Good stuff, mate.

And all the best to you and yours too Kim . Better keep an eye on yourself over the festive season too Kim Thanks mate

I love that touche line Alain ,

Geez, you'd better light up the barby then mate cause I aint no builder of replica 17th century uber furniture , just a Piano Tuner, gone crazilly obsessed guitar maker, with an enormous amount of passion. My boss from my apprenticeship days, often said I had a good pair of hands , so that must help. Don't get me wrong here , sometimes I find things pretty tricky and nearly in the too hard basket. I think that's where we get a real buzz ,,, when we execute a difficult step and get a result much better than expected.

Good on ya Steve and Dave too and all the best To you and your familly for Xmas.

Actually , it's only about an hour and a half away from 12 midnight ,here in New South Wales Australia ,,,So   Merry Christmas all you fantastic folk !
Wow! nearly forgot the carrots and bucket of water to put out the front

Beautiful work I love the 2 part linings, and the overall clean-ness.

Keep us posted!
