OOPS!
I just tried to register, but I'm not at my home email address that I used to register with. So I can't read the verification code to finish up. Can you cancel me out until I get home tonight and then I'll do it properly?

Sorry for the hassel.

A question about end-of-auction (and other optional) fees:

Is this still in the works as well?

Best,

Michael

Brock and Lance--

Great work on this site. I think that the concept for the site is good and that all can benefit. Easy registration and have already made a bid!

Thx --Jim

One possibility for the future would be to allow OLF sponsors a reduced fee (or even free access) to sell on the auction site.

I hate to say this but I almost feel you would need to be a member of the forum to sell and set a minimum number of posts before you can sell...maybe 100? At that point you should be able to tell if a person is legit or just throwing bogus posts to go sell their goods there. You really don't want this turning into eBay because that would just tarnish the auction site as well as teh OLFs name.

I have been here since close to the beginning. Is having a Luthiers Auction site really that bad that people would say goodbye to the forum? Is this second grade? Sometimes I just want to scream. This is what happens when something grows. Would you all be happier with a forum of 6 people from beginning to end? This site has now grown to not only help luthiers with their building but has now grown to offer options on the materials they use. To be honest, if i stumbled on some of the suppliers sites not through this site, I would wonder how legit they are as the websites are not the most professional. Steve, BobC, Ed Dicks, Brad...I am sure they have all appreciated the advertising space this forum provides. I am sure people found this site through them as many have found them through this site. Is it not ok to have a site like this that benefits everyone? I am sure th enext forum you all find will grow just like this and this issue will come up again.

Yeah I don't get the fuss either..is the auction site commerical? Sure. Is it benifical? Sure! So what if Lance and Brock make some money in the process. We all gotta feed our families. Plus I'm sure the software to run the auction site was not cheap, and the server space, and the Merchant account, ect... And so what if they made an annoucement here.. heck they own em both and they can say whatever they dang well please...This is a big resource for the startup of the auction site.

Now I do agree with Mario on the keeping the OLF the way it always has been. I would'nt want things to change around here (except for the awful forum software...ugh..). Anyway I say kudos to you both, and I 'll be hoping that the site does well and takes off.

Lance, you need to fix the Luthier's Auction link in the sponsor section. It just says.....   Coming Soon. Doesn't take me where I want to go.Aoibeann38969.6797106481
