Walter,
I know you were just kidding. I wasn't going to sell any... I just wound up with too much leather. They talked me into a whole side! I originally cut it into sections of 16" x 30" but this stuff was so thick ( at least 13oz - saddle stuff)I couldn't fold it or even roll it. So I decided to cut into smaller sections and offer to the community...it's now roughly 8-9" x 14-15" each piece and I am selling them two together. one piece alone seems to be large enough for sharpening and the secound piece is just for whatever. Do you agree or do you think they need to be bigger...problem is I can't fit bigger in the Priority envelope!! Dave-SKG38394.3739236111

Hi Dave,
I'm not upset at all. I was just having some fun with you !!
The size is more than enough.
Remember to use a wet stone first to get a good edge on the chisel, then use the leather and buffing compounds.
You will never have a dull edge again.

Hi Dave,
Walter beat me to it. As he says, thats more than enough for what you need. For future reference, you don't really need 13oz. leather for that. It's kind of overkill and heavy leather is usually quite a bit more expensive than some of the lighter weights. If you use some kind of a backer like a board, you can acutally use fairly light leather. I usually use cutoffs from belt blanks which is about 8-9oz. I do have some strops I have glued 2-3 oz leather on and they also work fine. Thanks Walter for reminding me of an old leather workers tip.
