Hi Dave, I'm not upset at all. I was just having some fun with you !! The size is more than enough. Remember to use a wet stone first to get a good edge on the chisel, then use the leather and buffing compounds. You will never have a dull edge again. Hi Dave, Walter beat me to it. As he says, thats more than enough for what you need. For future reference, you don't really need 13oz. leather for that. It's kind of overkill and heavy leather is usually quite a bit more expensive than some of the lighter weights. If you use some kind of a backer like a board, you can acutally use fairly light leather. I usually use cutoffs from belt blanks which is about 8-9oz. I do have some strops I have glued 2-3 oz leather on and they also work fine. Thanks Walter for reminding me of an old leather workers tip. |
