Ervin, what is your opinion on the practice of notching the kerfed lining to allow the ends of braces to tuck into the lining?
Here are my assumptions so far, using terminology from your presentation so we're all talking the same language. I think tucking the brace ends into the linings increases the coupling to the rim assembly, and would limit the monopole response compared to a top where the braces feathered down to nothing before they reached the lining. I know a lot of builders here tuck at least some of their linings, mostly for structural reasons, impact resistance, etc... Do you think this affects the top's response, or is the small amount of coupling at the brace ends negligible?
