Well in the lower mainland of BC where we really don't get snow (although we're known as the great white north) We've had two major snow storms within the past 1-1/2 months and it is very unusual. Well, today was one of them, we had 8" of snow fall within an 8 hour period in my town and it was nearly white out conditions on the highway. I was heading out to do some work and I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden it was coming to a dead stop, not surprising really as it was snowing so hard, but this was not what I expected to see in the ditch. You can see the front corner of my red Landcruiser so you know this isn't a fake. ![]() ![]() ![]() You can see from the progressive pictures that the main rotter blade was still spinning when I past it. ![]() ![]() ![]() Those two in the cockpit were lucky today. |

WOW, that is so unusual, you must have been glad you had the camera close by huh? Thankfully, you made it safe where you were going and back! |

Did anybody give those pilots a ride into town? |

They are a blast to fly, but when it comes to gliding one of those things, well.... Glad to hear that they are alright and they didn't park it on top of someone else. Oh, your snow has been hanging around here all day. Getting home tonight was anything but enjoyable. If its going to do what they say it is, I'm staying home tomorrow. |

That might just be a good idea Lillian. It's not suppose to snow tomorrow (and isn't right now) but it is to get down to -6*C (21*F) which will freeze everything that came down today. Big troubles it that happens. I know that most of the rest of Canada is laughing at us Westerners (south westerners at that too, I bet Shane is laughing too ![]() |

Oh and JJ, "town" is just on the other side of the freeway, only a 2 minute walk, and the hospital (glad it wasn't needed) is only about a 4 minute walk from there. These guys were fine I heard ont he news, just a little freaked out by the white out condition. |

Rod, it was supposed to drop down into the 20's here as well. When I got up this morning at 2:30, it was only 31. I probably should have gone in to work, but I think I'll pass. We were only supposed to get an inch or so, we ended up with about 6. Where I have to go always gets a lot more snow then us. I don't have a problem driving in snow. I have a problem driving with those idiots who think they can drive in snow the same way they drive on dry roads. By the way, I was wrong about needing a passport to cross the border. That happens next year. So I might just take you up on your offer to visit your shop. |

LOL! I do get up early, but even that was early for me. My son stayed up late, no school today, and was making a bit of noise, so of course it woke me up. During the week I get up at 3:45 to get to work by 6:45. I can't wait until he graduates and we can move! |

Great picture Greg. Our place looked like that on Thursday. We were blessed with 7 inches of the white fluffy stuff. Love to play in it, not fond of driving in it with those that believe there is do difference between dry pavement and an iced road. |
