Just got my hands on Mr Robert O'Brien's fine DVD on guitar finishing. Havent watched all of it yet but what I have watched looks excellent.

An excellent and highly useful reference thanks Robbie.

I just completed French polishing my first guitar since watching Robbie's dvd. This guitar had the best finish yet. His techniques on how to properly FP really made a huge difference in the results. My only problem spots were where the fretboard meets the top. Those areas require just a litle more practice.

Cheers!

John

Think I got the thing sussed. Took a bit of shim work to get there. I need to look at the M and T cutting jig Im using....it needs a few adjustments.

Cheers Martin

I'll second what John says about the FP section. Robbie's approach is far simpler that the Milburn tutorial and I was able to get a superior surface finish with much less effort. His method is KISS at its finest.

Robbie...my elbow thanks you!

I'll sing accolades for Robbie's DVD too. I've used it to learn about pore filling, KMT-9 and now spraying lacquer. The steel string DVD is packed full of useful info too. Both have helped me tremdously.

I can vouch for the fact that Robbie is just as good in person as in any of his
videos. If you are in the denver/metro area, check Robbie out at Red Rocks
Community College in Lakewood, CO. It is an excellent woodworking
utopia, one made so much more valuable by Robbie's expertise and
enthusiasm.
