I like several I've seen, but these Schallers from Germany were really the nicest I've used to date. I have a set of Waverley's in the drawer and hope to use them soon. What's your favorite tuner? |

The best tuners by far are Rogers, I've got a set on a Kevin Aram that I'm playing at the moment and they make Waverly look and feel like cheap Walmart tuners. But they are expensive, no change from $1k for the cheapest. Otherwise Waverly, Schaller, grover in that order, all open back. I've just got a set of hand engraved Fustero from Spain which do impress me, and they just look so Spanish. Colin |

For classicals, I think Sloane (made by Waverly)are the best value, but I do love the Rodgers - A bit too pricely for me at this point. |

Tryed Gotoh's in most varieties and as good or better than Waverly's.... 510 Deltas 21:1 are far superior than anything I have ever seen. |

I've got a set sitting in a box ready for 'THE' guitar. My wife bought them for me for my birthday some years ago. I think I know what they are going on but until it's built I won't be sure. I also, as I said, have some on a Kevin Aram guitar that I'm playing at the moment and they are just the Rolls Royce of tuners. Waverly/Sloane and all the others I'm afraid just don't come close. Gotohs. Cheap, good quality, work just lovely. Then again, I've only used sealed tuners to date, since I don't think open gears would look 'right' on any of the guitars I've designed to date. |

I have been always very partial to Waverly's but if anyone you have not tried the Gotoh 510's, specifically the Deltas 21:1, try them. They actually feel better than the Waverly's mechanistically |

Alessi and Rodgers for Spanish guitars and Gotoh 501's for steel string guitars. I have 2 sets of the high end classical Gotohs ($175-200) that are really nice. |
