I'm a guitarist who wants to help some luthier in California's central coast as an assistant in trade for knowledge to learn how to build guitars.  Anyone out there who needs an assistant?  I am 57 and live in Atascadero and play a Taylor steel and a Gustavo Arias classical parlor guitar.  I hang out sometimes with luthier Peter Yelda but want to work everyday. I can be reached through Blue Note Guitars in San Luis Obispo, everybody there knows me, or by calling me at 805 461 9637. I'm a very quick study. And I want to learn.

Welcome Nick, you found a good place to start. Welcome to the OLF, official luthiers forum, aka old luthier farts. You may fit right in here.

How are you at emptying dust collectors, sweeping floors, and going without food? Just kidding, but there are many sacrifices luthiers make just to do what they do. Good luck to you, many happy wishes, Bruce
