wow, that's nice. I was walking through my not-so-local exotic wood source Hogans in Little Rock one day. I saw this three inch piece of maple and it was the tiger stripe variety and through and through. I tossed it back in the rack and walked away. In my sleep that piece of wood was calling to me and I drove back to get it. Of course... it was gone. And there was no more. Shoe to the buttocks.... What beautiful binding it would have made. good score Chris. Wah wah wah!

The big drawback to instant "pretty" at that price range is when the color changes to a dull reddish brown thru photo degeneration as it does. Think padauk and the way it darkens because of photo degeneration. Nice hunk of wood otherwise... |

I've seen it hold its color for years; still pink, with just some darkening. |

Yes Maybe a darker pink sunburst. Actually I like it. Very unusual to see pink ivory wide enough for a 2 pc. back

Can you slice that slab up and edge glue a multipiece back, perhaps with a padouk center section. I like it. Colin you gotta break that mahogany habit. |

There's pink irory that is a lot more red, like watermelon, but most is like that, and it's expensive in the guitar size needed, if you can get it. I'm a sucker for red guitars, but most of the time its too pink. Bob's guitar sure looks nice though! |
