Hey, guys. I was renovating the shop for a few weeks and missed the thread on showing your shop. It is finished (for now) and I thought you might want to see it before I get started on something else. I hope this link works. ![]() Old Man's Shop Ron |

Very nice Ron! I see that you say that you're blessed with a lot of space, but if for some reason you run out of space, let me know and I'd be happy to store some of your tools over here. You don't have to answer right now. You can think about it for a bit if you want. ![]() |

Nice shop! The only problem with a big shop is that if you are in one end of it and you need to measure something, you can be pretty sure your ruler is in the other end. So I'm really glad I have a small shop. Yes. Right. No, really I am. OK, so perhaps I envy you just a little bit... ![]() |

I realy like the bench at the window. My shop is a spare bed room in the basement. Power tools are in the garage. Have to back out the truck and van then drag out whatever tool I need to use ![]() |

Thanks, guys. The building is 30' X 40' and was built to be 1/2 shop and 1/2 storage, but I've turned the corner and now take up about 2/3 of the space. I hadn't even thought of building guitars when I built the shop, it was just a general woodworking shop, so I've kinda retrofitted one area dedicated to guitars. My long term plan is to build a small climate controlled room in there somewhere. Ron |

Ron, great place you have there! Reminds me of my old shop. It was 30x50 and mostly empty. At least I thought it was empty. Then I moved into my new shop 24x35 and totally filled it up. Can't wait to come over and visit. Great job! |
Nice shop Ron. I really like you Sandpaper drawers...where did you get such a thing?
Brad, the drawers came from Lee Valley. Very high quality, and you can build as big of a cabinet as you want. All you do is groove your sides on the table saw. If you put the grooves 1 1/4" apart, all the drawers are interchangeable. You can put three 1" drawers or a 1" and a 2" where a 3" was, etc. Really neat. Clinton, yes, the bags are just weight. That lathe is steady as a rock. I also have a 1/2 bag in the base of my router table. ![]() Ron |

Sakes alive that's nice. Gosh a wish a "luthier's hangout" existed around here like that....with a one-beer entrance fee. :-) Nice place, Ron...very nice place. |

Howard, I don't know what size shop you have, but I've seen your guitars. I'm a lot more envious of one's talent than one's shop. It's not the length of the wand, it's the ability of the magician. ![]() Ron |
