A dread in a case, roughly 20lb was ?100 ($200) from UK to Oklahoma A mando well wrapped was ?52 to California The UK postal service will carry larger packs that the USPS. from what I understand a guitar in a case is bigger than the OFFICIAL USPS limit. Couriers will carry big boxes but cost about 50% more. |
The UK postal service will carry larger packs that the USPS. from what I understand a guitar in a case is bigger than the OFFICIAL USPS limit.
I'm in Canada, but I've received a lot of packages-including guitars in boxes- from the USPS. As I understand it, the USPS size limits are for outgoing parcels- the limit varies with the destination. I think they will deliver most incoming guitar-sized parcels that make their way into the international postal system. John |

good to know. The UK post folks only took the parcel on the understanding that I could get it back again if the USPS refused it. |

The local agents here use FedEx and ship to the USA without any problems. Last time I sent an LP-style (so quite heavy) to North Carolina the cost was about ?110, as I recall. |

The USPS will definately deliver guitar sized packages. I just sent one last month using the registered priority mail recommended by Paul Woolson. It arrive safe and sound in about 3 days. And it only cost $35....wooohooo |
