I know there is several answers to the following questions but I need some help. I just bend my first side, which worked very well, but now I need to remove the side from the bender. Once I let it cool should I run it for another heating cycle? How long and how hot should I run the blanket?

Thanks!

I cook it twice, let it cool down, then heat it back up a third time take it out of the bender hot and get it into the mould and crank up the cauls. That way it cools down and sets in the mould.

I bend the sides, let em cool about an hour, cook em back up to 300 and do it again one more time and transfer to the mold.

I`m not sure why you guys want to double cook.It seems to me if it`s bent it`s bent.Of course I`m no expert,I guess your worried about it springing back.I don`t see how this is possible if it`s glued up in the mold right away.I`d be worried about scorching it.

Thanks for all the help. I double cooked the side and am waiting for it to cool down so I can put it in the mold.

If you have proper heating and the wood is high grade you should be good. Check out my website http://www.bluescreekguitars.com
in the tutorial section click on using the bending machine. There you can get some good info on basic use.

All good advice here Brad, i do the same as Hesh and i'd be tempted to try what Colin does, a third time, cookeD slowly with not as much heat should not hurt IMO.
