where can I find Concert Uke specs?
Shapes, size, scale, etc....

Peter, Hana Lima 'Ia has a couple of plans for the concert ukulele. One of the plans is a Kasha braced system. Mike Chock studied guitar building with Richard Schneider and has applied the principals of Kasha bracing to the ukulele. Here are links to examples of Kasha braced ukuleles and a link to the plans. Now THAT is what I am talking about!!! I love that Kasha design. Kind of hard to tell, but even with ukes, when something is stated as "14 frets", that means at the heel, right? There are a few more above this? A tenor with only 14 frets is not what I am looking for (17-18). Mike |

Mike[/QUOTE] Mike, Usually the 14 fret comment refers to where the neck joins the body not the total amount of frets on the fingerboard. Some makers will join the body and neck of an uke at the 12th fret and some at the 14th fret. Size of the uke and preference of the maker come into play with this decision. |
