I know a classic look for two darker colored woods is a plain ebony binding or in the other direction, curly maple. Would love to hear (or see-even better) about your ideas. This is a high fig redwood.
Thanks to all,

Bob,

You might want to try some of the Zootman's eucalyptus binding if you are looking for something different. It's about 1/2 way between maple and Koa as far as color goes.

I've used it on a cocobolo guitar, and was quite happy with it.

Bob, if it were me, I would probably look to something like BRW or Ebony, with a highly figured top, and Coco, the bindings can fight for attention if there to figured.
That said, to each his own, some people like that!

I am also building a redwood/Cocobolo OM/OOO right now.
I am using ebony binding/fretboard/bridge.
My top is high flame redwood and the cocobolo is highly figured so I wanted
simple bindings.

Not to disrespect the other suggestions here, I have to say that Lance is a master of color combinations--just check his website--and he has spoken!

Bob,

What if you carried the Coco theme through to the bindings? Maybe separated with a simple w/b/w purfling There can be something a bit busy to my eye when adding a third wood to a guitar build.

Ziricote ... dark like ebony from ten feet, but up close it shows graining and colour ... sweet. If you can cut your own on the quarter the raying can be very nice.

I'd see ebony too, must admit that ziricote would look great also!
