My A-style out of stuff laying around the shop project... Top and back are each one piece from the same plank - quarter sawn mahogany with some mineral streaks or something going on in it. I think it's neat. Rib is sapele from a practice guitar side Steve from Colonial sent me w/ my last guitar order. Neck is from a block of mahogany left over from my last guitar neck...sawn out (no scarf joint). Ebony fingerboard that I planed too thin used for the laminate in the middle. Headplate is mac ebony, another goodie from Steve. You'll think I'm out of my mind, but the binding and fingerboard are going to be ash. |

Looks awesome Jay, can't wait to see the ash as binding and fingerboard, sure will look different than anything we're accustomed to but believe me, sometimes the best results occur when we think outside of the box! Cheers |

Jay, Fabulous. I love it when left over wood gets to become an instrument like this. It's like those Russian Dolls - guitar, mandolin, ukelehle, cigar-box guitar . . . The ash should be really nice - having seen the neck John Kinnaird made and Serge's guitar. |
