Hello all,

I’ve been having trouble uploading pics for the past few days.

Looks like some of you guys have got it figured out, or it’s just my computer.

Got any suggestions?

Robert

BTW, this is the error message i'm getting.

"The website cannot display the page
HTTP 500
   Most likely causes:
The website is under maintenance.
The website has a programming error."

Yeah,There have been problems with this since we were attacked a while back. Some of us have been using Photobucket to link our pics here.   I get the same message as you

Here's a post from last week that might help.

You can also use any place that lets you put photos online -- your web site host, yahoo, flickr, etc., but they might not give you the url in a tidy package like photobucket does.
Yes Pat's post (link above) taught me all I needed to know to be able to use Photobucket and post pics. It works very well and is easy to do too.

Thanks again Pat!!
You betcha! Can't do enough for my OLF bros!

I'd like to thank the folks who have been explaining how to work around the picture posting problem.

However, using Photobucket or other places (like your own webspace) for photos is a poor alternative to the system that used to be in place here on the OLF. Registering at another website (with the attendant possible hassles of spam and pop-ups, adv ertising, etc) is not my idea of fun. Leaving pictures indefinitely in my own very limited webspace is unlikely.
More importantly, as others have pointed out, off-site storage will likely mean that the pics won't be around when you search the archive in a few months.
Since the picture uploading has been 'not working' for quite a while now, with no recent updates from the OLF business owners, perhaps this is all part of some new plan to save on overhead or storage?

Pity- posts without pictures are not nearly so useful.

John,

I hope you're joking. Lance and Brock are about as straight-shooting as they get. They've both stated their intent to restore photo posting in numerous posts. If there were issues related to saving on storage, they'd come clean and say so.

Greg, copy and paste your IMG code that's on the phtobucket page, third down from every pic, it should work

John, Not hardly.
The server that the OLF is hosted on is a dedicated 2.8 ghz dual processor triple redundant machine. We are hosted at a server station that handles many of Brock's clients, so bandwidth is a non issue.

The picture posting problem will be corrected as soon as humanly possible. We have corrected a lot of damage that was done behind the scenes due to our friendly hacker two weeks ago. The picture posting tool was destroyed and will need to be fixed by our original programmer. When time allows.

Thanks for your patients

Lance
