Hey guys, I sprayed the first coat of lacquer and this yellowish stain appeared.I glued the rosette in with tightbond and brushed shellac in the channel.Any ideas' what it is and will it sand out?

Dave, to me it looks like the purfling bled for some reason. Did you apply the shellac after the rosette was done or before?
Try scraping with a razor blade and see if its removing any part of the stain.
If in fact bled, then appliyng an epoxie on the top will not hide the stain (don't ask how I know)
Best suggestion:
black top like Hesh's Tiger myrtle guitar!

CA will definitely do this. I had it happen on a guitar even with a vinyl sealer
on i.

Dave, if this appeared - after - you applied finish, I suspect that it may be some residual glue on the surface that didn't get sanded off and the lacquer is allowing it to show, or darken different than the wood around it. I would follow the above advise and at least try to sand it back a little.

Thanks a lot guys. I brushed the shellac on the channel very well I thought so thats why I was surprised this showed up. I'll sand it back and start again.

Dave,

I'm curious - did you get that stain out? And did you figure out its origin?
