How do you insure your neck angle is correct without the fret board at least clamped to it? I'm trying to use a combination of changing the neck angle and sanding that area but it seems I can't get a true picture of the neck angle without that sanding being done, and yet the neck angle should be determined before the sanding is done? Sorry for perhaps beating this dead horse but I rushed my last neck thinking I would fix it with the set-up and that guitar is so hard to play it doesn't come out very often. |

Hesh, excellent description and illustration - much appreciated. Question...wouldn't it be better to use a board that is dead flat as I've found that slotted fretboards are not always so? |

Thanks again and I do see the situation a little clearer now though Mr. Red is under a coat of Z-Poxy as I write this. And doesn't the StewMac instructions ask you to have the plane right ON the bridge height? Isn't 4/16ths a quarter inch? Above the saddle height? That's a bit confusing but I am getting a clear picture of how to proceed from here even though I was very close an hour ago. I'll wait for the Z-Poxy and try to adjust a little more. |
