I know the Behlens and the Mohawk are from the same 'parent' company... RPM Wood finishes Group. Also in the line-up: Star, CCI, Guardian, Fletco and Watco...

I know Tony Karol uses the Mohawk product.

I've used Behlen's once. I used it on my first guitar. I switched to McFadden's and have been using it ever since. I don't remember having any problems with Behlen's, probably just found a better deal on McFadden's. Seems like the McFadden's gives me a little more amber too, which I happen to like.

I have used Mohawk for about 15 years and swear by it.

I just switched from KMT-9 to Maclac. It been used by a number of local luthiers here for a number of years. $27.00 a gallon but I believe it's only sold on the west coast and Hawaii. My daily player was sprayed w/ this 4 years ago and is holding up well. Here's a link to their website which has quite a bit of info on nitro Maclac
