I'm not sure if it's OK to offer items for sale here, or if it should be in another part of the forum. So please move or delete if this is improper.

Helen and I are in contract on a house in Sonoma (Bennett Valley, which is near Santa Rosa) where I plan to build my dream shop after first squeezing it into the existing garage and part of the house. I'm going to have to cut loose my 36" Oliver. I want to offer it to friends before doing Craigs list or Ebay. If you have the space, it's a lot of saw for the money.

It's a 1940's saw with the traditional style cast iron frame. It came out of the Mare Island shipyard at an auction some years back.   5hp 3-phase direct drive, so you will need a converter to run it on single phase. Various things on it are a little loose, but it overall runs well. It has a new set of Carter guides. Also a couple of new or almost new Timberwolf blades. It weighs about 1500 lbs. I can put it on the back of a truck with my forklift (which is also for sale--an old '60's vintage electric "walkie" type that can lift about a ton and a half). Shipping it is out of the question.

Brake is frozen, tires fair. [that was supposed to be funny, if you get the reference]

Price to you guys and gals is $2000. It will go up a bit if I list it to the general public.

Forklift is $500. Condition of batteries is uncertain, but it works fine. two stage mast. electric drive motor. includes a charger. Has small solid wheels, so can't go far on the street; it would need to load into a truck that loads dock high (4') at the loading dock where my shop is, and then you probably have to unload the same way, since I guess it weighs about two tons.

Let me know if there is any interest.

Howard

Yes. I will throw in a test dovetail on request, too.

Michael's phase converter is exactly what is needed. The bandsaw is currently wired for 240v 3-phase, but can be switched to 440v.
