Hi Everyone,

As some of you may know, There will be a few inlay seminars at the ASIA symposium again this year, which I have been asked to help present.

I would like your input as to what info / techniques you may like to see.

We are still planning, so the door is open! Depending on the updated scheduling, there may be more than one class for either basic skills and / or advanced.

Whether you can attend or not, your ideas are welcome.
I will be meeeting with Dave Nichols by next week end to discuss.

Hi Paul, I'm really looking forward to the inlay sessions at ASIA. I love the
work you do, so, I will be thrilled to get the chance to learn from you. I'm
just getting started with engraving, so that is an area I would like to see
covered. In general though, I would be most interested in advanced
techniques

I suspect people would be interested in a talk/demonstration on using materials other than shell.

I'll sit in for anything. I'm such a beginner at inlay that anything you guys can show me would definately make an improvement in my skills! Hopefully they can have classes at beginner level as well as advanced. I would attend both even if the advanced class was beyond my skillset.

Right now, the beginning class will be a hands on seminar. We need to arrange for all the cutting supplies.
As far as the advanced class, it may be in the "panel discussion" style. It's not yet set in stone.

Folks, give us some input! I don't want to overlook something many would like to learn or discuss.

Paul, please email me if you're interested in a donation of acrylized wood for inlay use. It's been working quite well for inlay and rosette use. I can reference you to users as I know this is a fairly new medium.

I just finished a meeting with Dave Nichols.
Preliminary set up is a basic , hands on cutting class, along with a panel discussion for the advanced session.

We're arranging to have tables set up for cutting stations and Dave will offer a cutting kit, consisting of a cutting board, German saw frame, blades, and 1 oz. of shell. We will supply patterns and adhesive for the entire class.
(We won't offer any routing in class due to the time limits.)

Alternative materials seems to be an interest from the few responses here so far, so we'll make it a point in the advanced session.

We hope to have actual dates firmed within the next 2 weeks. I'll update everyone then.
