I thought I'd chuck a few pics up of the OM Twins (Cheryl and Trev)

They are both IER with Englemann tops, Adi bracing.

One has scalloped braces the other parabolic.

The only difference that I can pick at this point is that Trev has a fundamental note around a full tone higher than Cheryl when tapped around the bridge position. (Trev is the parabolic one and has the extra purfling around the soundhole)

Cheers

Bob

Handome twins you have there and a noble experiment to boot. I hope you will keep us posted about the sound of each after they are strung up. This is one of those debates that rages on with too much anecdotal evidence and with little true testing.

Hesh

Trev and Cheryl are just good Aussie bogan names.

I think bogan would roughly translate into the American vernacular as redneck. (think trailerpark)

Le Fridge is definitely still there.

In fact I'm just off to a barbie there right now where Le Fridge is the guest of honour

I don't know what it's like where you are but I'm over this hot weather. 38 degrees today here in Geelong and it's going to be the same for the rest of the week.

Le Fridge should be the Guest of Honour ! It does a hell of a job , after all !

I'm up in the mountains of N.S.W. Bob , so it ain't so bad .

Are you sure Trev is parabolic ? Most Trev's I know are paraletic

Thanks for posting the 'twins'. Very interested in any sound differences that might develop.

I have prediction too - one will sound a little different than the other and we'll have the longest thread ever on why that might possibly be.

I am very much looking forward to that discussion.

I'd just like to report that le Fridge was in scintillating form this afternoon, full of sparkling repartee and Carlton stubbies.

He even managed to keep his cool in 38 degree temperatures when the resident Jack Russell relieved himself on Le Fridges compressor.

So impressed we were that we're thinking of nominating him for a Logie.

I'll definitely have sound recordings of these two to post when they are finished.

I'm also going to record them at three month intervals to note changes as they open up.

I've also had some thoughts about building a couple of hybrids. Parabolic X brace with scalloped tone and finger braces, and vice versa.

The we'll have quads with the next two named Kath and Kim.

(as he ducks, nervously awaiting the next post from Hesh )
