Just posted an absolutely stunning piece of Tasmanian Flame/Burl Myrtle at Luthiersauctions. The size of section and the colour/figure is spectacular. I hope it goes to a good home. It would be nice to keep it in one piece or split into a book matched piece. This material will machine and finish well. It has been dried for several years now so it stable and quite sound.

I had a look for the Myrtle myself and found that it didn't appear the auctionh home page. It is listed in the HEAPLATES section.

What a great piece of wood. I am sure it will look great on someone's guitar!

I just "figger'd" out that W.A. is Western Australia, Not WA for Washington (state)

Well done Robert!

I had trouble with some of the US state abbreviations MI: Michigan or Missisippi!

Thank you, Tim.

MI is Michigan Mee Shee Gun in my Yankee (New Englander) Dialect.
And MS is for "Olde Miss" for Mississippi! I am not sure if they think of Mississippi as a spinster (old maid) or what...

btw, I love Aussie Rulz Futbal!

Mee-shee-gun!?    Do you drive your PEE-kuhp truck in your PEEN-stripe suite?

Post subject:

Or suit. Probably couldn't get the whole suite in the PEE-kuhp.

I'm currently building with a set of Tim's Tasmanian Blackwood and it's really nice, just thought I'd give a plug for Tim in case people were curious about it. Great tap, well quartered, bent well, etc, ect.
I'm sure to build more with it.
