I'm trying to figure out how to acheive the right shape and fit for the sides of a Weissenborn. ToddStock's illustration in the link below answered most of my questions but I'm a little confused (my fault, not Toddstock) about the height of the blocks used to elevate the mold and the blocks used to hold the pencil. Are the blocks at the nut and tail end, suppose to be the same height as the depth of each end? In other words let say the guitar is 1-1/2" depth at the nut and 3" at the tail end, should the blocks that the mold is mounted on be the same height? The pencil mounted in the block is 3" from the top of the sides... yes? The Weissenborn threads on this forum really helped me alot. Thanks. Thanks ToddStock for your reply. I was initially under the impression that the illustration you posted was the guitar mold with a few blocks. Now I see that this ( jig) is a project in itself. Is there a simplier way to shape the sides without having to build a jig? Just like to add that your work is very neat and well thought out. I look foward to seeing your next Weissenborn construction installment .Thanks. Mack |
