Adi/EIR finally done (pics)

Well, I hope my building skills are better than my photography skills--I just can't seem to get clear pics without all the glare--Anyway, I strung her up tonight and shes sing'in.
Real nice EIR, Adi top, bloodwood backstrip and binding, ebony headplate, grover 18:1 open back tuners, hippo tusk nut and saddle, Adi bracing in the Martin prewar style, ebony fretboard with abolone diamonds/squares. The bridge is 2 3/8" spacing and 1 3/4" on the nut--great for my big fingerstyle play. The neck is done in a satin rubbed down Tru-oil finish, I really like it. The body is done in amber shellac, buffed to a semi gloss. She sounds pretty bright right now with the new strings and settling in. Can't wait until she opens up! Hope you enjoy the pics.

Looks great AF! Tell me more about your True Oil neck treatment...# of applications and method of applying, etc. How long did it take to cure out to a dry slippery feel? I'm doing something similar with Danish Oil. TIA

Hesh, I had a large piece of hippo tusk leftover from my grip maiking--I also ahve lots of giraffe bone and other exotic materials. The hippo is just like elephant ivory, only a little harder and more dense--I like the density compared to bone, takes some of the treble away and it polishes like glass, and of course I can say I have hippo tusk.

JJ, the tru-oil neck I do is like this--nothing fancy. I sand to 600 before applying. I rub a thin coat using my hand only, I let dry half a day or so, rub sown with 0000 steel wool and do it again. I think I did 10 applications on this one. It only takes me about 5-10 minutes to apply it each time I love the feel of it.

I am NOT a dread fan, just because they are so hard for me to play as I slouch on my couch, but EVERY TIME I see one I just know it sounds great and I am tempted to try one again. Yours inspires me. Nice job.

Great Scott!!!! You did it!

Well done mate, she looks fantastic but I reckon you should take her outside, put her down gently under a shady tree and get a few more shots for us in filtered light so that we can see her in more detail.

I gotta say Scott, I am jealous. EIR, Adi with Bloodwood and Ebony appointments, very nice. With specs like that coupled with your skills and the knowledge picked up here at the OLF, I bet she sounds wonderful.

Can you do a sound file???

Looking good af. I am really becoming a big fan of the bloodwood bindings on EIR. Nice job!
