While Waiting for glue to dry on my Stew-mac dread - knot... I was thinking that I could put together a dulcimer or three with the scraps left over from several oak tool chest projects. Does any one have plans for a lap (mountain) dulcimer I could have (or buy)? Robert |

I have a set somewhere, but I don't have a clue where. I am pretty sure Stew Mac and others sell them though. Usually not very expensive either. |

"Constructing the Mountain Dulcimer" by Dean Kimball is a pretty useful littel book. There is a plan there you can scale up, and he presents a completely jigged up construction method as well as a completely freehand method. LMI has it. |

I just remembered where I got the plans. They came from International Luthiers Supplies in Tulsa. They are a reasonably good set of plans as I remember. |

Robert, Wendell Powell has posted a good set of plans on his web sight, dulciaddict@centurytel.net . Don't build the longneck, you won't be able to put it down. ![]() Cecil |
