Z-poxy for French Polish

Is it really necessary to z-poxy or pore fill a top if it`s not open grained such as spruce, before french polish?I`d really like to keep Shane`s Lutz top just as light as possible, without that slight amber hue that z-poxy will give.        James W B

Thanks JJ ,that`s what I want to do.Gonna use the lightest flakes possible.I believe blonde.
