I got a couple of Lutz tops from Shane last week and finally had time to run them through the sander. I have used a couple of his AAA tops and was very happy and decided to see what the master tops are like; and the answer is - Great. Not only tight grain spacing but very uniform over the whole width of the top, and silk you wouldn't believe. Great tap and very stiff. I have a couple of Euro spruce tops and the Lutz is noticeably stiffer. Of course this is a small sample size but I'm impressed.
So, if you haven't tried a Lutz top, run don't walk..........
