It's been a busy last 2 weekends and I thought I’d share the results. All made possible because of the generosity and sharing of the individuals of the great forum. Thanks and very much appreciated. Here’s the Woolson Neck Tenon Jig: 
And next the Bowl Profiling Fixture made from a Polycarbonate material. Works and glues together like wood. 
followed by 2 new sanding disks. 
All of which I’ll be using very shortly with a special interest in the Woolson jig. Thanks again. |

Michael if you build guitars like you do jigs -- they are gonna be a treat to see. Building the Woolson jig is on my to do list, yours looks great! |

I want the Woolson jig, but I've been putting it off til I can build one as nice as yours...guess I'll never get it!

I have been pondering how to make the bowl profiling thing too. What did you cut the white side/radius guide pieces out of? Did you use your router to make these or buy them? |

Thanks all, The plans for both these jigs are very good. Finding the hardware could be a problem. However, things are easily modified with what's available a most hardware stores. The sliding arm for variable bridge location was an idea from one of the forum members in a past post. (Thanks) John, The white side/radius guides are made from UHMW, which like the Polycarbonate works like wood. I created a form from 1/8 white board then used the black double sided carpet tape to hold it in place while I routed the curve in the 15/16" x 1/4" X 28" UHMW. This carpet tape is as good if not better than nails. I also use the tape to hold the guides in the jig when routing the disks. Terry, Thanks for the heads up. I was just pondering that problem. Michael, Very nice looking jigs. I've got to take time out to make the Woolston neck jig. I have the plan, just have to take time out to make the jig instead of building guitars. But since neck fitting has been the biggest problem on my first two, it's definitely on a fast track

Gene, Though I have yet to use the jig I'm dying to give it a try. I'll surely post some pictures during the process. Let me know if you get there first. |
