this week I spent an hour with a piano that's going to a skip on Saturday. As a result I now have a bag of ebony blocks the size of the visible part of a black piano key...... and a few pieces of really nice spruce for bracing purposes. Sadly the rest was scrap ANYWAY, the ebony, I could use this for mando bridges right? maybe for inlay on necks & rosettes too....... |

Gibson type adjustable bridges for arch top mandos are usually ebony, yes. Some people like lighter maple bridges, some like various rosewoods. One guy who has done a lot of experimenting with different woods (and styles) for mandolin bridges is Red Henry, check it out. |

WOW! that IS a comprehensive page!!! My mandonaught guitar shaped mandos have a fairly low bridge so I THINK I'll get away with it. |
