I need a really small vacuum pump to work with my vacuum holder. I'm just going to run it continuous instead of building the joewoodworker unit. Anybody know the exact dimensions or brand name of the vacuum pump sold by lmii. |

Marc- I don't know the answer to your question, but I've fooled around a bit with the (JB FastVac, 1/2 HP) vacuum pump I have. I'd strongly encourage you to add a vacuum reservoir to your system if you are going to be depending on the vacuum to hold the guitar safely. The pump I have is not very 'high volume' and takes a while to 'recover' if the vacuum seal is broken, and it has 10x the HP rating of the LMII one. Apparently you can rig up an empty propane cylinder (well flushed) for this. Another possibility would be an air tank - they are available pretty cheaply- I saw one at HD the other day for about $40. Autoparts and farm supply places will have them as well. Cheers John |

I don't have space to spare, I was told that with the lmii manifold you have nearly a minute with a power outage, that seems adequate. Their pump is suppose to be very quiet and small. I found a gast that is 6 x 4 x 4 inches, I thought they might be the same pump but the guy at lmii thought their pump was bigger, like 10 inches long, but he was guessing from memory. |
