Hi everyone

I'd like to get some prints of my of my 6x6 photo scanned, but it's been
about seven years since I've even thought of having something scanned.
Do you know where I could take them to get decently priced scans that
would produce something indestuingishable from the original print?
Have scanners progressed to the point where I won't need to get a drum
scanner involved?

Call and ask some professional photographers who they use. Nearly all of them have switched to mostly digital (just look at what's happened to used Hasselblad prices on ebay) and still need old film prints or slides scanned.

Hey James,
I don't know what part of the country you're in, or even if you're the US. But even here in a smaller town we have a 3 or 4 printing services that will scan an original print and they're indistinguishable from the original. They have come a long way.

Dang no edit!

So, to finish my thought, you should search around for a professional printing service locally. I wouldn't think it would be too expensive to have one print scanned.
