I've got a little concert uke on the bench(floor). I've been working on this on and off since September. This has a couple of coats of Z-poxy on it that hasn't been sanded back yet. Just need to finish up the neck and I'll be finishing it with the new Hard Shellac. I'm building this for a friend of mine and only charging for parts. 
Solid Koa(even the neck!), Binding and neck lam is cocobolo. Enjoy! Tracy |

Working on a koa 000, first "commission" for my nephew. Neck is on its way from John Watkins, sides are bent, back is braced since this pic was taken. Next will be rosette, soundhole, and top bracing on Lutz top. Body woods from BobC.

Great looking work everyone! I have a bunch of guitars on my bench right now. You can see most of them if you go to On My Bench page on my site. I don't have time to upload all the pictures on here now. But I sure am glad the picture function is fixed! |

Josh those are fine looking guitars. I sure like the double sound port one. The bracing pattern on the top with the double Fishman looks interesting. I am no flattop builder but I don't recall seeing a top braced that way before. Looks cool! |

Anthony, the back on your guitar really catches my eye. Its breath taking-ly beautiful! It looks like maple? Also, it has sort of a burlwood look about it. Robert |

Just finished this rosette last night. Koa with b/w/b/red/b/w/b purlfings. This is the first time I have used a color in the purlfing and I really like it!

Well I have 2 on the bench The 1st is the Hesh inspired OM with the flamed redwood top. This one is just about ready for a finish 
Here is my 1st L-OO It is BW Ebony from the Zootman Lutz from Shane It also utilizes my epoxied double sides!!!

It's so nice to have our photos back and working! This is whats on my bench at the moment - I just thicknessed the back and sides of a walnut set from the Zootman. It's an SJ with a Lutz top.

I'm starting a new amp. Modifying the normal channel of a blackface Fender to Two-Rock specs because John Mayer's Two-Rock sound on Continuum has more mojo than I can handle. Still laying out a schematic. |

Robbie, I knew you'd recognize that peghead! By the way, everyone's projects are coming along beautifully. Anthony, that is an incredible piece of quilted maple you are using. Under finish, it is going to be incredible. Robbie, those 2 are coming along very nice. I like the laminated neck on that OM. Very cool. Can't wait to see all of these finished instruments! Tracy |

Here is a better picture of the priest Rennie MacKintosh - Lady Kissing a Rose It's a reasonable likeness of MacKinstosh's original stained glass work.
Nice rosette by the way -- I like the looks of using a MOP ring close to the soundhole - it really shows off the pearl nicely -- nice job! Best, Anthony |

A 28 5/8 scale baritone. Primavera with snakewood appointments. 
 
Trying to get it finished by april 1 to get some finish on it and cured and buffed by the last week of april. -j. |

What's on my bench doesn't fit on the bench. It seems I've turned my hobby into a mirror of my day job Here it all is on a pool table instead. Sorry for the focus - I think the camera batteries were about dead.
In the electric corner, we have a 4 string bass (for me) and a Tele for a friend. 
In the acoustic corner, we have a Rodriguez-style classical (for a customer), and two Reyes-style flamencos (one for me, one for a friend). All my western red cedar and yellow cedar is from a guy named Kevin Hall, in Ontario. One flamenco has a Sitka top, the other is Carpathian. 
The last picture is of the ongoing OM project that I asked about bindings in another thread. I naptha'd up the back for this picture. This set is from Dave Maize. 
Just as I hope the pile of papers will somehow be gone from my desk someday, I also hope that this pile will get smaller. Ha! The faces may change, but the size will stay the same. I don't seem to be able to work any other way. Jim |

Anthony wanted to see the bracing on the Redwood/Cocobolo Guitar It has some of the Somogyi features, but by no means shows what he does. It is not fully carved in this picture. It was MUCH cleaner when I glued on the back. I am almost embarassed to show this pict. (Not Lance clean, but clean)

Here is what was on my work bench tonight. I am hand planing the sides for a ziricote guitar. The ziricote gummed up the drum sander something awful, but it planes beautifully. 
Here's the back for the same guitar. I made the mold yesterday. It is a new shape I designed, it is for a 12 fretter, about as big as a 000. The wood is ziricote. 
On the other bench is a guitar shaped bouzoki that needs only a couple of more coats of nitro (hopefully). EIR back, Italian spruce top.
