If you are like me drilling the screw holes to mount my
tuners made me very nervous before I found this little tool in my local hobby shop, now I can do it and have a beer at the same time. The center drill is 1/16" or .0625" a little small but easy to redrill. Also great for truss rod cover holes. It works on every type of tuner I have in my shop from the deluxe to the budget models. The company that makes these does make larger sizes but I felt this was the best for our app.

a set of transfer punches does the same job and for less than $10 you will be able to mark holes from 1/16 to 1/2. seems like a better deal to me.

I just mark mine and use an awl to make a starter hole and drill away.

Thanks for that info. Another arrow in the quiver, so to speak.
For mounting hardware, a VIX bit is the usual tool to use, but I don't think they come in a small enough size for the tiny screws we are talking about here.
A small transfer punch(as Michael mentioned), or even a properly bevelled center punch (or automatic center punch) can also do the job.
