This is too weird. Today I'm standing in line at Arby's with my family, having been outvoted on burgers, we're set for roast beast. I'm wearing my Gilmer Woods .Com Tee Shirt.

Guy behind me reads GilmerWoods.com Portland Oregon and comments something about my shirt, says he owns a guitar made in Bend Oregon. So we start chit-chat while waiting our turns. He's wearing a shirt that says: Yes, I am a Rocket Scientist.

He works for Northrop Grumman Huntsville Alabama. My family came from just over the line from there, Lawrenceburg Tennessee, middle 1800's. As we talk, I ask where he got his Breedlove, Paducah Kentucky he says. Hmmm.

The Dickeys lived in Middle Tennessee and left there for Texas, got as far as Paducah and had to get off the boat as Savannah was having a baby. They decided to stay. So, my family and his guitar came from there. Go figure.

I asked, "You got it with you?" Sure he responds. As soon as lunch was over, you guessed it, we're out pawing through his luggage to pop out the Breedlove in it's case. A great looking guitar for sure.

It was Sitka Spruce over Big Leaf Maple, black ebony bindings, abalone sound hole rosette, no pickguard. Very clean, inside and out. I don't have a clue the model or anything, but was impressed with the quality.

He mentions the guitar came with a diaper for changing strings, a cardboard cutout, to protect the top as you slide the strings through the pinless bridge. I hand it back, he strums it then tucks it away for the ride home. A serendipitous meeting. Why is it we fawn over things we love and enjoy?

Oh yeah, I spied it, inside the guitar, something no other production guitar has, a JLD Bridge Doctor as standard equipment. I can say one thing, it had a nice flat bridge area.
