At all of the Lowe's around here there's a 15% power tool sale. I picked up a Bosch Colt for 15% off. And on top of that the Colt has a special for a free router bit up to $28. I'm not sure if it's national but you guys may want to check it out. I got the Colt and a spiral cut carbide bit for a little over $100 with tax.

Oh, I did, but not from your post. I was in lowes and purchased a 6 inch Porter Cable RO Sander for $49.00, they had four and were just dumping them at cost?

Then I was at my ACE dealer, and they were doing the same with Porter Cable, and I picked up two Speed Bloc 1/4 sheet sanders at about $45.00 and change.

Very uncommon sale, Ace is still Running their's here in my town. Still has a big rack of stuff, all PC.

Sometimes you just stumble across a good deal and passing the info along can be helpful to those looking, thanks guys.

Farm and Home stores are, or were a week ago, having a sale on the Porter Cable profile sanders... $25. Accidental find on my part.

I recently saw a Delta 14" bandsaw in the returns area of my local Lowe's store. The cast iron table top was orange with rust, and at first it looked horrible. I looked a little closer, and saw that it was otherwise like new. I asked and was told that it was returned because "it wouldn't cut steel". The buyer apparently wore the teeth off the woodcutting blade, and returned the saw on the bed of his pickup truck in the rain causing the rust on the table top. Well, to make a long story a bit shorter, I bought the $430.00 saw for $150.00. I cleaned up the rust, put on a new blade, and now have a brand new saw. The moral of this story is probably that not all good deals are advertised.

Bruce, thanks for the compliment and thanks, guys, for the 'welcome'. I have been lurking for a little while. This forum is likely to push me over the edge and actually motivate me to build my first guitar. I have been investigating designs, kits, books and anything else I could. My order of ignorance has now decreased due to finding you guys! I think my initial motivation to build is that my 1.5 year old Martin OM has a finish problem and want to send it back to the factory. My second motivation is that I love to build stuff! Isn't number 2 enough?
Oh... Bruce, I am up in Springfield, IL.
