I'm looking for a few sources for a 20" (or 20 1/2")by 48" sanding belt to use as the conveyor belt for my Shopnotes thickness sander. I've found a couple of stores online, but I'm wondering if anyone has a proven winner. One store kept giving error messages during checkout. Another only sells them in packs of 2. I've already spent way too much time on this seemingly simple task. Any suggestions?

Steve, when I started looking at the plans with and eye for making it wider, I looked around at whats available for belts. I could find 18's and 25's easily and affordable. But I did find a couple of places that would make custom belts. I think I still have their urls if you want them. If you don't want to pay for a custom belt you may have to cut up a 25".

Thanks Todd. I might just rethink the drum size. Couple more disks.... recut the base.... yeah this could work.

Ah, that doesn't sound too good. I think I'll just fire up autocad and see what I end up with.
