I would like to thanks you all for your gracious tips. Here is my almost
done
dirst acoustic and as of today started first electric. I am attending
Midwest Guitar School for a year. It simply couldnt be better. The only
bad thing about the school is that you can do anything you want to so
there is unlimited things to pick from. Mike the Owner/Teacher has so
much knowledge and can tell you how to fix and mistake you could
possible make. Along with building your own guitars he has you fix his
friends broken ones and ones he has around the shop.

Here is the start of my Telecaster. It is African Blackwood. It will be

Here is a pic of an amp our electronic teacher made. I bought a celestion
greenback nos 1992 prototype speaker that I will be putting in the new
cabinet Im going to make for it.

If anyone is looking for some bridge billetts I have lots of extra cut offs
from the tele Im making. There is a 6x1 bridge on top to give you an idea
of size. Please make an offer most likely it will be accepted, I am just
trying to ofset some costs of the tele. I hope you all enjoy these progress
pics and thanks to all that have helped(mostly by me just looking at
topics you all have started. Also thanks to the Zootman and hibdon for
suplying awesome wood. The shop is only a stone skip away from
Hibdon(the toy store) They are such nice people. Before I start to

The top is carp spruce. The back and sides are Flinch sawn honduran rosewood. Blackwood Fingerboard/ Bridge Bindings and Tail strip. The bindings are now on! Enjoy





I also have two more pieces of the blackwood for bridge blanks. Please let me know if you are interested. You could likely get 20+ briges. The bridge on top is 1x6"

This guitar is interesting. The soundhold is lower than normal, The bridge is higher than normal. The back and sides are oak. It is steel strung no bellying it has a ladder bracing. This guitar was built by a german builder (no idea how my teacher aquired it) It had the most even tones throughout the entire fretboard than I have ever heard. Also the sustain is rediculous. Never thought oak would do that.

Alan Carpathian(carp) spruce. It is very similar looking to red spruce. In fact
by looks there is absolutely no difference in my mind with the tops that I
have.

Thanks Hesh for the help with the pics and the compliment. I used advanced
type x bracing on this one. And just tapping the top over the bridge plate
creates this booming noise. I can already tell shes gonna have lots of
volume. Im glad to hear you had good results with this wood. Ill have to take
a pic of a close up of the grain, it is watercolor figure. I thought I was going
to have difficulty bending the sides without them cracking, but foxstyle
bender with 3 100w light bulbs and some hot pipe afterwards did the job.
