I am looking for some specific items and have an item of interest to trade, but I wanted to see if this is allowed? I figure it's probably not, but I can't find the rules to make sure. Does anyone know?

Probably the best strategy would be to contact LanceK or Brock Poling to get a 'ruling' on that.
From time to time, regular users have posted items for sale or to give away, but it is not that common.
There is the LuthierAuction site, but I've not found it very appealing and I don't know how much traffic it gets.
Either Brock or Lance recently mentioned the possibility of a 'Garage/Yard Sale' here, so you might want to watch for that.
BTW, attaching your name to your posts would be a nice 'personal touch'.

That's what I did when I needed some gaboon ebony. I posted what I needed and said that I could trade some similar items in different material.

I got a PM, email and post on the thread and took it off line to make the trade.
