I realize this sort of thing is not a big deal for most folks around here, but – hey - I DID THIS – who would have ever thought. First is a pic of the repair to the bridge plate, second is clamping the cap into position, 3rd is the end result of the bridge plate repair. Some improvised homemade tools really came through. The saddle slot is now squared up, the bottom finished, and the new saddle matches the radius of the fretboard. ![]() The nut was actually made from ebony (I assume) or a black wood of some sort. Because of that – I would assume that the nut was original, but not worth saving. Bought the wrong size nut. Got to wait for the new one – or make one from a blank. I’d like it to be vintage bone – so I’ll probably be patient and wait. ![]() And the peg head has all the holes plugged - ready for the new tuners. I've just about decided to go ahead and refret - most if not all. If I have to reset the neck later, this will have already been done. Hope you enjoy watching my good times. |

Very nice work, Tony. The patch along the bridge holes is really clean work- I'm impressed! I like the homemade tools as well- my kind of stuff. In your case, I guess it's that pioneer/frontier 'can-do' attitude, huh? Cheers John |

I like it Tony. Fixing em is harder than making em. |
