It's been a long time since I've posted any pix, so perhaps you'll allow a shot or two (or 3 or...)?
This guitar is a simple Indian rosewood/Sitka SJ, with abalone rosette and curly maple bindings.
And, as Hesh insisted, and I finally acquiesced, it sports b/w/b side purflings.
Man, he can be persuasive!

Anyway, hope you enjoy these. This guitar has been a lot of fun to build.

Thanks for looking,

Steve

Tony does great work indeed, but look at the canvas he has to work with!

That's really beautiful Tony.  Bet it comes out great when completed.

Real purty guitar Bro.

I think Indian Rosewood is one of the most underappreciated guitar woods out there. It looks great, sounds great, and it does require you to take out a second mortgage on the home place to buy it.

Anyhow,

We need to see more shots of top purfling etc, when it comes home.

Steve,

That's very nice - I like it Looking forward to seeing more photos.

Tony's "studio" looks as though it has great acoustics - apart from the ones he's spraying - maybe it should be a "birthing room" too

Hey, only the best is good enough for your excellent guitars! I'm looking forward to seeing the completed instrument.

Beautiful! The curly maple looks great against the rosewood.

I agree with your brother, EIR really does not get the credit it deserves; perhaps this is so because it is so readily available? It is also such a pleasure to work with; it bends easily, the dust is not too nasty and it is pretty stable, what is not to like?

Thanks for the positive strokes, guys!

Lance-what a kind thought. Thank you.

Peter-agreed. The simple approach lets the wood speak for itself.

Hesh-certainly, IF there are black curtains. I'm looking forward to two more clappers!

Waddy-let's hope so. I know the owner does.

Bro-thankee mucho. More shots are a'comin. And I also wish more customers had the Indian Rosewood itch. It's just great stuff.

Bruce-a gentleman who lives on the Texas/Louisiana border ordered this one. By day he's a bass pro and fishing guide. By night he plays guitar until his fingers bleed. (You never hear of men fishing until their fingers bleed, do you??)

Dave-thanks! I wondered how our British contingent would like this.

Larry- THANK YOU!

Carlton-as usual, your remarks are most generous. I'll get some pix up as soon as I can.

Arnt-high praise from you! I agree, EIR should have a larger fan base, and not just from the factories and major manufacturing firms. I'd like to see it considered a premier wood by most hand builders. However, we keep getting allured by the flashy stuff like Ziricote, Koa, etc. don't we? (Yes, I plead guilty to that.)

Andy-thanks. What I like about the white room is finally getting a guitar into it.

Coe-it's kind remarks like yours that make building worthwhile.

Guys, I really appreciate your generosity. This is nearly as rewarding as when the customer first opens the case.

Steve

I always find Indian Rosewood and flamed maple bindings
to irresistably elegant and simply a perfect match.

Looks great Steve.

Love to see more pics when it's finished.

Cheers

Kristopher--thanks! I just hope my customer doesn't treat me like yours did you. (I'd be tempted to quit also.)

Ron--thanks! (I always like to hear that! )

Bob--thanks mate! Glad to hear from the other side of the world. By the way, way down under, do those pix show right side up, or the other way?
Just curious.

Thanks again guys. This helps so much in the "labor pains".

Steve

You remembered seeing a bunch of those on the hillside shop. I like 'em, and so does Martin Guitars.

Steve, my Brother is up from Victoria Texas and I shared this quote with him this morning. Mom turns 80 next week!

Oh, and nice geetar man, it's so cool. And, now that I think of it, your customer is a Cajun Cowboy Crooner, eh?
