Just passing along this news. Do with it what your heart tells you to do. Dear All, My name is Joshua Tan; I am an associate of Jeffrey Yong, whom I believe all of you have an association with either in business or as a personal friend. Jeffrey was involved in an automobile accident last Thursday evening in one of our Malaysia hills while driving back from his hometown. The car he was driving skidding in the wet weather and the wreck totaled the car. Jeffrey was extracted out of the car, suffering internal bleeding injuries at his abdomen levels and some other bruises on his upper body. He was operated on immediately on upon his arrival at the hospital and has been in ICU since then. The doctors thus far have told us that the worst is over and that Jeffery needs to rest for a significant period of time. Currently, he is still warded in ICU, under sedation to keep the recovering pain minimal and the doctors have requested for many who are visiting him not to disturb or wake him up, as he is still not breathing naturally and needs the breathing apparatus to for assisted breathing. This note is sent out for two reasons: 1 Please forward to all the other luthiery fraternity who knows him to be kept in the loop of his progress and to continue to pray for his recovery 2 We are not able to access his website and emails; hence we know that probably his emails are full due to no replies from him. With this, please help disseminate this note to all who may be waiting for his wood inventory or what ever else that is pending business wise and informing them accordingly. At this juncture, we are not able to ascertain when he will be taken of ICU or when we can speak with him. I will keep all of you informed as he progresses in his recovery. Please help disseminate this as best. Thank you and regards, Joshua Tan |

Sad news. I've seen photos of his guitars over the years, and have admired how he goes his own way in designing and decorating them. Here's hoping we'll see more of them in the near future! |

Jeffery is a great guy. I met him at a gal convention where he insisted one of my guitars needed brass bridge pins. So, he gave me some. All other dealings with Jeffery, including wood purchases have been great. He is a real professional. |

I met Jefferey at my table at the last GAL convention, a very friendly gentleman. Having been to Malaysia and scootered around there I confirm that the roads are not great in the mountains. Man, I hope he gets well soon! Shane |
