I finally finished the classical I have been working on.
It sound really nice-the finish is still soft so I know it will "open up".
Tried a bunch of new tecniques on this one such as french polishin",hot hide glue, solid lining (willow) on the back and one piece wood rosette.

Specs:
Top-Carp spruce from Steve at Colonial

Back, sides bridge and head veneer-Brazilian rosewood, cut from the same board

neck-Spanish cedar

fretboard-ebony

rosette-pink ivory

binding-Brazilian rosewood and Ceylon satinwood

Brad - Great looking guitar, gorgeous set of wood. Did you build to any particular plan?

I'm working on my first few now, using the Miguel Rodriguez plan, but I'm going to start a more Romanillos-based guitar this summer.

Wow, That looks great!  I love the wood.  I just finished french polishing my first and it looks pretty good but yours looks flawless.  Did you have any trouble with where the neck meets the sides?

Also, what kind of grain filler did you use and what did you do for the final buffing?

Brad, that is beautiful.
I like the way that you've blended your colors.
For instance, the Satinwood picks up that light sapwood in the Pink Ivory...or vice versa.
Very nice!

Brad, that is one beautiful instrument. I really like the rosette. Nice chuck of zoot to produce all that. I also find it neat that one sponsor utilizes another.

Brad, that is a knockout classical.  That is some gorgeous BRW. I'll ask too, what is the bracing style that you used, size etc.?

A beautiful piece of work Brad. Love the choice of woods...the whole instrument has a light but very balanced look about it.

Well, no doubt, beautiful that guitar is!

But, I would like to use another word to describe it!

Elegant! Very Elegant!

The color combination was well thought out.

Great looking guitar!

Robert

Thanks for thr compiments,guys.

Jim, The shape is from a Romanillos plan.

Clint, I did have a little trouble french polishing where the neck meets the sides, but it did work out after many sessions. I used a water based pore filler and I also used the pumice method. It hardly needed any buffing at the end,I used the fine Menernza compound on the wheel VERY lightly.

Waddy,
It is a simple 7 strut fan bracing pattern.

Ed,
here are some photos of the innards:

Very nice Brad. The BRW bindings were the right choice as the satinwood line becomes the major design element.

The Pink Ivory rosette is a knockout. With the fade from the pink heartwood to the sapwood it looks like a sunrise.

Thanks Brad.  That's very nice work.  I too am using the Romanillos plan, but I'm going to try the open braces version to see how that comes out. I hope I can do half as well as you did.

All the woods go perfectly. The whole thing is an overstatement to understated tones (wood color tones that is- I'm sure it sounds great!!)
I love it!

Yeah, well, you couldn't afford one anyway!

That's a fine looking classical, Brad. For about a second I didn't like the bold purfling, but I sure do now. Very distinctive.

We need more Goodman guitars!
