Last night I spent over an hour at the 13th Fret listening to sound clips of John's traveling ladder-braced guitar. What an outstanding sound...and what virtuoso performances by some great musicians. Make sure you have lots of time and a high speed connection...it's well worth it!!! Check here John...you have created the real deal here. I only wish I could once again walk across the parking lot in EDH and play one of these for myself...I miss those days! Congratulations, my friend!!!

Thanks for the bump JJ, I sure wish I had been there to witness all this picking but it's fun to watch the videos as well. That little guitar is finally back in California for a short visit although it hasn't come home to my shop yet. It will be going to the "Swannanoa Gathering" this summer in North Carolina for their "guitar week". |

That's a great sounding guitar, John. It's very cool to have all those terrific players not only playing your guitar but having it all recorded on video. Could you share a little bit about how a "traveling guitar" works. Thanks John! And, thank you J.J. Long |

Hi Bob, I think I heard somewhere that John Greven started all this "road Trip" stuff but who knows. Tim McKnight has had a few of them himself as well as Paul Woolson. It helps to have a forum or some sort of gathering place for the players to discuss and tell about their experience. I am a sponsor of a players forum so that was the logical place for me to organize this venture. So I asked for some volunteers, taking about 15 names and told them that the requirements were, 1) They should be familiar to some extent with the type of guitar I was presenting (since this guitar is not everyones cup-o-tea). 2) They would write a review and post it to the sponsoring forum. 3) They would have to pay the shipping to the next participant. 4) Make recordings if possible. I also specified that the guitar should be shipped via the USPS Priority mail which is very reasonable. My response was very good and the guitar has been on the road since about last October, touring the east coast and is finally back in California but will be going back out in mid summer for another trip. The road trip has been a very helpful tool for getting exposure, resulting in 4 guitar sales and possibly helping make a couple more. It has also been helpful in getting the thoughts of these kind players about the setup and other likes and dislikes they felt like mentioning. It has been great fun allowing me to make a great many new friends and I got some very nice recorded music along the way as well. |

What an outstanding learning tool for fine tuning your instruments! Also good marketing tool, but your are, after all, making guitars for players. Their feedback has to be invaluable for future builds. |

I just listened to Bach's "Joy of Man's Desiring", played by M. Wong. A lovely arrangement, played really well, and what a great sounding guitar. Ladder braced, hmmm... |

I totally agree with Arnt and Anthony...my favorite selection was #6 as well. John's guitar sounds almost harp-like in that piece. |
